IT Temporary Contractors Are Paid £700 a Day Right Here

There has never been a better time to be a temporary IT contractor. You roll in, do the work, and then take home a big bag of cash. Easy.

Even better, these IT jobs are everywhere, as companies all around the UK really do need skilled professionals who can get the job done skilfully and quickly.

It’s just come to my attention that IT contractors who have knowledge and skills in the Kubernetes/Docker/AWS (DevOps) area are currently being hired by companies on a temporary basis for around £700 a day. Not bad work if you can get it.

Other areas that are paying well, sometimes between £400 and £550 a day, include Front End (Html/CSS) and iOS/Android PHP. If you have the skills then make sure you get your CV out there and take advantage of this IT contractor gold rush.

Of course, nobody can guarantee you these kind of earnings, but the word on the street is this is what some companies are paying.

Take Cyber Security as another example, which of course is a major problem for many big companies right now. They are getting hacked left, right, and centre you see, and that is why they need IT contractors to come in from the outside and take care of business.

I’ve been hearing that some IT contractors specialising in Cyber Security are taking home £500 a day, on a temporary basis no doubt, but when you consider that thousands of companies need that digital force field to ensure the security of their Cyber properties, then it’s easy to see why many IT workers are finding jobs around the country.

One day you could be working in Inverness, and the next day it could be Southampton, but for £700 a day who is complaining. You simply make the drive or get the train and then get reimbursed for your travel expenses.

My advise to any IT contractor making £700 a day is to spend it wisely and make sure you save and invest.

Think about your retirement and make sure you get a self employed pension plan sorted out, because as I’ve reported about before, you don’t want to be relying on the government and their state pension for an income once you hang up the mouse and keyboard.

Yes, times might be good right now, especially if you are getting £700 cash in your pocket every day, but there may come a time when these skills are not needed as much or won’t command such a big pay packet.

In other words, be smart and get your finances in order. You don’t want to be one of these IT contractors who has to pawn their Rolex watch in a few years because suddenly skills such as Cyber Security and DevOps are no longer required.
