The Self Employed “Oscars” in Worcestershire

In the county of Worcestershire they are searching…searching for self employed and small businesses that are “outstanding.”

Are they going to be searching every farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and doghouse? They might do, but for now they are inviting you to put yourself forward.

Obviously if you were a fugitive, on the run from the law, then you wouldn’t just turn yourself in so easy. However, when you are a self employed freelancer or small business entrepreneur who wants to be recognised for your achievements, then you happily present yourself to the authorities.

Which authority exactly? The Federation of Small Businesses, or FSB for short, who have recently put out the call for Worcestershire’s self employed and small businesses to step forward and embrace the limelight.

This won’t be any old slap on the back either. No chance. This is the FSB we are talking about here, which means you can expect a fancy ceremony where the winners will be wined and dined and be able to walk the red carpet.

Kind of like the Oscars. Only this is for self employed people, and its in Worcestershire, not Hollywood.

So if you are self employed in Worcestershire and you want to throw your hat into the ring, then you might be wondering how to get a nomination? It’s easy…

In fact, all you have to do is submit your entry to the FSB by the 4th of January 2019, and then, if they feel you really are an outstanding candidate, you will be invited to the big award ceremony on the 15th February 2019.

The ceremony will be at the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel in Solihull, and on arrival you can no doubt expect photographers to be taking your picture and the media to be putting a microphone in your face.

“How do you rate your chances of winning tonight?” the interviewer will ask.

“I’m just happy to be here. It’s the taking part that counts,” you will reply.

And then, at the awards ceremony, you hear those words…

“And the winner is…YOU!”

The light shines on you and the music starts to play, and then you walk to the stage, being congratulated by your peers on the way.

“You like me, you really, really like me,” you say as you collect the award.

It all starts with submitting your application though, something which must be done by January 4th remember.

There are 11 categories overall, such as Digital Innovation, Start Up, Product Innovation, Young Entrepreneur, Employer…and many more.

It’s going to be a great night there is no doubt about that. So if you are self employed in Worcestershire then my advice is to put yourself forward and get that nomination.
